Are segboards and swegways the same as Segways? No.. but we see the confusion all the time!
People commonly mistake a Segway for SegBoards / Swegways and we see it almost all the time! The confusion is because often people think that Segway, the creators of the famous 2 wheeled scooter 'L2 SE' and the Ninebot or MiniPro which changed the way people thought about travelling.
Segboards are also two wheeled boards but they don't have a scooter handlebar feature as they're fitted with technology and sensor pads which calculate your stance and weight applied as you lean to move backwards and forwards or left and right.
They have many different names such as; Balance Boards, Swegways (similar to segways), Hoverboards, airboard, oxboard, IO Hawk but most commonly used is the Segboard.
Are Segboards Dangerous? Well not all of them are, but the media thinks they are
Segboards have been seen in the Media and on the News lately foreseen to be very dangerous.. but before you get scared! they're only referring to the Cheaper China Brands of segboards which don't hold a full CE certificate (not the China Export but the Euro safety compliance). It's often seen that the cheaper branded segboards come with certificates which say CE but it's only a fake export certificate which is on a piece of paper... don't fall for this! they're FAKE and will end up exploding or catching your house alight! All to get a cheaper deal.
Tested and safe to use Segboards not only come with a certificate they also come with Brand new Samsung batteries which are appropriate for using within the Segboards and therefore you have no risk of any fires! This is because the special batteries and configuration allows the battery to cut out before any further damage has been made to the product and a safety feature, which warns the user will help identify the issue so you can get it sorted as soon as possible.
